“It is not hard for the Lord to turn night into day. He that sends the clouds can as easily clear the skies. Let us be of good cheer. It is better farther on. Let us sing Hallelujah by anticipation.” -C.H. Spurgeon
I assumed that reading through these books would be easy reading in my Bible Reading Challenge 60, but it was not so. One verse that is encouraging to keep before me this year is Micah 6:8. In light of the LORD’s goodness to me, I need His Truth saturating my life in order to do justly; I need His love in order to be merciful; and I need a proper perspective of my Most High God in order to live humbly before Him.
God is faithful. A faithful person is one who can be trusted and relied on. When we are confident in God and His choices for us, we have realized His faithfulness in all things.
“Called” means to be told or to be named. God calls us to be with Him, and He assigns unique tasks for each of us in this life. God has given us names – proper and common. What are your names?
If I miserably fail in carrying out the tasks of my names…
If no one acknowledges or appreciates my names…
If my names are way different than the names of others..
If I lose the ability to perform the responsibilities of my names…
I am still called by His Name – I am His.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” – I Corinthians 10:13
Do you ever struggle with thoughts of what a person said to you [or didn’t say to you] to the point that it paralyzes you from being the Christian God wants you to be? The thoughts we dwell on define our moments. Our moments are a gift from God. Only by His Spirit can we walk in Truth. Listed are a few Scripture verses to think on this January.
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." – I Samuel 16:7 "That God seeth the secrets of Read More
He was there even before I had time to dial 911, before I had time to call my husband, before I even knew what was happening in my front yard.
As I waited at a red light, I noticed these sweet little purple flowers growing amongst the weeds on the roadside. They are not exotic or bright. No one was stopping to pose by them as they will soon do when the Bluebonnets soon make their show here in Texas! Many recent days have been cloudy Read More
The New Year is not always HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. Sometimes, it is HURTFUL, HURTFUL, HURTFUL! To those of you who are hurting on this first day of January 2015, have a HOPEFUL NEW YEAR! You are WHOLE in the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST. He never fails. He is loving. He is kind. He feels what Read More
This morning…the song playing is "I've Found a Friend." Yesterday, I stopped by a thrift store and found a jewel of a piano offertory book by James Pethel. I have not bought piano solo books in years, probably, but this song caught my eye and was worth more than what I paid for it. Below are Read More
At this month's beginning, my husband preached a message at our church entitled “Requirements for Victory” that I noted, not realizing how I would be called to apply these truths to my life in the same week and month to follow. I will share the five excellent sermon points which are clearly extracted from Joshua 24. I will Read More
