Proverbs 25: 2 “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. “
Kings are referred to in 6 verses in this chapter. Wise are the kings who search out matters and then operate in truth. With our upcoming Presidential election, we as Christians should vote for the candidate whom we have researched and have found wisdom exercised in his life.
Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”
Proverbs 28:2 “By the transgression of a land many are its princes, but by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures.”
God knows all things, and it is His glory to work in undisclosed ways. Presidents do not know all things for they are men. We do not know the outcome of the nearing election, but God does. We do not know what the future holds, but God does. We are commanded to respect our elected officials and pray for them, yet our confidence and security rests solely in our God.
II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.“
